Building and Supervisory.

Maintenance Officer.
 

Seven and a half years experience as a maintenance Officer in aged care. Main duties were to prioritise in order of  attendance the daily maintenance requirements of the aged care facilities as well as ensuring that preventative maintenance schedules were adhered to and scheduled maintenance was carried out to plan and to manufacturers specifications. 

 

Residents personal request were attended to promptly and all mobility aids were correctly adjusted to individual requirements and in safe condition.

 

I had a excellent rapport with all contractors which guaranteed that I could always depend on them on short notice. 

 

Plan and coordinate contractors for room refurbishments.

 

I was well known for my friendly and jovial relationship with all residents and staff.

 

Experienced in greenfield developments, from survey and peg out, mark out excavations, steel work, footings and pier concrete pours, laying and levelling of floor bearers and joists, framing, roof trusses, wall and ceiling noggins, fit out and surfits, etc.

 

I was also responsible for the delegation of tasks for builders labourers and to communicate with all other trades as to progress and schedules. Ordering of materials, fixtures and fittings.  Liaison with Inspectors as to availability and make appointments.

 

Inspection of units prior to sign off to ensure total completion and quality standards are maintained.

 

I also gained experience in site supervision as clerk of works during a $3 million redevelopment and extensions at Strathaven, Berriedale, which entailed the daily liaison with builders as to schedules, progress etc. and to document and photograph construction details.
